What is an Evidential Breath Tester (EBT)?
An evidential breath tester or EBT is a breathalyzer device that is capable of producing test results that can stand up in a court of law.
Evidential breath testing devices have been evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NIHTSA) and appear on the DOT Conforming Products List for evidential breath testers. A DOT approved EBT may be used to perform a DOT screening test and must be used to perform a DOT confirmation tests.
