What problems cause an alcohol test to be cancelled if they are not corrected?
A fatal flaw will always cause an alcohol test to be cancelled. However, there are several correctable flaws that can cancel a test if they are not corrected. A BAT, STT, or employer must cancel an alcohol test if any of these problems occur and are not corrected:
- The BAT or STT does not sign the Alcohol Testing Form
- The BAT or STT failed to note in the Remarks section that the employee did not sign the ATF after the result is obtained
- The BAT or STT used a non-DOT for for a DOT test
