The Rapid Strep A Antigen Test is a lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Strep A antigen from throat swab specimens of symptomatic patients to aid in the diagnosis of Group A Streptococcal infection. This test is FDA 510k cleared for professional and in vitro diagnostic use only. This test will only indicate the presence of Group A Streptococcal antigen in the specimen. Negative results should be confirmed by a culture.
